Imjin Barracks

The barracks, named after the ‘Glorious Glosters’ heroic stand at the Imjin River in April 1951 during the Korean War was delighted to recently welcome Her Majesty to formally open the MOD medal office and so the opportunity to wish Her Majesty happy birthday at this year’s festival is one the whole barracks is excited about and keen to share with our family, friends and people of Gloucestershire.

The barracks is home to some 450 officers and soldiers from 20 nations who serve in the Headquarters of the Allied Rapid Reaction Corps (HQ ARRC). The HQ is one of NATO’s high readiness units ready to respond to crises at very short notice across the globe.
